What I've learned about President and Sister Porter since Jacob has been in their care:
Sister Connie Porter is an amazing and kind woman! She has helped ease so many of my fears! Jacob has some specific medication needs that have to be addressed each month, and I was so worried about the logistics of it all. But, she has called me or texted me when needed, and is wonderfully personable! She was especially sensitive when Jacob's grandmother, Ethel Poulton, passed away just a month and a half after he left. She helped me to feel that there would be someone right there for Jake, if grief was high. However, Jacob handled things in such a mature way. But one of the main things that I just adore about Sister Porter, is that she is so encouraging and supportive of my son. She is always telling me what a great missionary Jacob is, and how both she and Brother Porter can just see and feel his desire to be a good missionary. She just compliments and compliments. I always get off of the phone feeling uplifted, just talking with her!
